New project – yarn make over

I found this yarn at a garage sale and I liked it (price was right🤪) 10 rolls for $2.00. Any way I rewound it and started working and said “oh no” it’s going to cluster color. Not what I wanted so, I decided to see what would happen if I used two strands together. I made sure the two rolls were out of sync color wise. Then started working a stitch I thought would work well for making sure the patterning did not pool too much. I think it will be a scarf. See the results in pictures.

“Sock it to Me”

Well I was going through my yarns and lo and behold I found a piece I was working on in the way back but put it down. Guess I will finish it now that I found it. Looks similar to one I posted yesterday.

Crocheting that does not felt

I have done little crocheting that I don’t do in wool but I was gifted this Lion Brand “Amazing” yarn so decided to work something up. It’s not finished yet but close. Besides the “Amazing” yarns I used bulky yarn and crochet thread. I kind of think of this more “free-styling” because it is mostly continues usage of the yarn where “free forming” is normally making separate pieces then putting them together. My felting site is https://daisyhillstudio.art.blog

Garage sale find

I was out garage sales and found this box of cool Lily threads. Two sizes. Small one is:50/3 the other is 20/3. Nice colors too. Can’t wait to work with it.

Now what hook and stitch should I use? What to make?

Working in two mediums-maybe, maybe not.

Well I decided to take advantage of having two places to work out of so… my home has become a crochet studio, just crocheting – no felting (even though I crochet the wool) of my crocheting. The shop to become just my felting/crochet studio

It is easier to felt at the shop because there is a drain and no carpeting. The added plus is; I get to work on two separate projects.

No felting yarns at the house and vise versa no felting yarns at the shop. This only gets sticky with the novelty yarns. I keep them at the shop only because there is more space.

So, I also need to be better at setting up my designs. As you can see in “I’m Torn II” I planned it out on paper first. The felting of crochet is a little more forgiving in the use of yarns and stitches than does the crocheting.

We go to the shop at least three times a week so have plenty of opportunity to work on the felted/crochet project.

I also do not have to carry so much stuff back and forth to each place.

Wish me luck in making this happen.

ChhhhhaaChhaaa Changes

Well we have started to plan our retirement place. We have a large shop and are in the beginning stages of setting it up as a retirement home. Well that means that I would have 2 places to design in so… I decided the other day to (for now) have the shop for my felting and our home be my crochet studio. As I do not need to felt my crochet.

So, now for the separating of felting over non felting yarns and things. I have all ready separated my yarns and taken my wool to the shop. Now to bring my non felting yarns to our home.

It will be nice to stop on a wool project and pick up a regular crochet project.

So wish me luck in dividing crochet from felting crochet.
